Mayor Breed, Director Reiskin and Director Heminger,
We support bike share in San Francisco. Unfortunately, the cap for Jump is 250 ebikes in a city with a daytime population of 1.1 million. Meanwhile, Ford GoBike is capped at zero bikes in many neighborhoods as new stations are needlessly delayed or blocked.
The SFMTA’s voter-mandated Transit-First policy states:
Decisions regarding the use of limited public street and sidewalk space shall encourage the use of public rights of way by pedestrians, bicyclists, and public transit, and shall strive to reduce traffic and improve public health and safety.
Delaying, blocking or putting a cap on bike share violates this policy because:
Bike share is good for everyone in our city. Support the expansion of Ford GoBike and remove the cap on Jump ebikes.
